Dear Visitors!

Welcome to the website of the Degenfeld-Schonburg Castle in Cuci!

The castle was in the property of the Degenfeld-Schonburg family from 1800 until the nationalisation. It enjoyed its heyday after 1905, when Degenfeld Kristóf  built a model farm on the family estate and made the castle more comfortable being equipped with modern facilities. Unfortunately, the building was completely pillaged at the end of the war and shortly afterwards. It was almost completely destroyed during the communist era, and unfortunately it  still reflects the damage done in those times.

After several years of legal disputes, the building was returned to the family in 2010.

In partnership with the Pro Castellum Degenfeld and Ante Portum Associations, we opened the castle to the public in 2020. Visitors can enjoy permanent and temporary exhibitions, an escape room and a picnic area. The building is also an excellent setting for private events.

We look forward to welcoming you to the castle.
